I have had a couple of poker players ask me about RakeBack and how important it is, so I thought I will explain it here in some detail and the difference it can make to your bankroll.

RakeBack is quite simply a cut of what the poker rooms take each hand you play - For example if the pot is 100.00euros then the poker room will take 3euro commission from that, to keep it simple lets say there are three people in the pot so they have each contributed 1euro commission - Therefore if your on 30% rakeback then you will receive 30cents back for that hand (This is usually paid at the end of the month) It doesn't sound like a lot but if your playing thousands of hands a month then this soon adds up.

A lot of full time poker players have a bankroll and rather than use or deplete this for monthly costs they draw their RakeBack as a wage, keeping their bankroll intact.

As you can see the more you play the more you earn. Now lets look at it a little more in-depth

At NastyDuck 1 VIP point is equivilant to 0.40 in rake
Therefore;
10 VIP points = 4euros
100 VIP points =40euros
1000 VIP points =400euros

So lets say you generate 5000 VIP points a month (This is typical for a medium stakes player)
5000 VIP points = 2000.00eruos so at 30% you would receive 600.00euros back each month

If you play higher stakes 2/4 and above on a reguiar basis you may possibly earn 10,000 VIP points = 4000euros - at this level you will receive 40% rake which equates to 1600.00euros each month regardless of your wins/losses as long as you had a working bankroll

I am not going to bore you with the higher figures but as you can imagine, the money is HUGE when your hitting the 60% threshold and most players consistenly playing 5/10 euros above can expect to hit these levels.

What does is mean if you are not getting RakeBack? - Simply you are missing out on a lucrative slice of cake

Low Stakes Player per year = 300euros-1000+
Medium Stakes Player per year =7000euros +
High Stakes Player per year =20,000euros +
(These figures are approximate and based on regular consistent play)

So as you can see, if you haven't got a rakeback deal your seriously cutting down your earnings and you are missing out on an extra income for doing EXACTLY what you do now!
